AVG free is better than both of those, few viruses every get past it and it detects them the minute they get through. plus it doesn't take a lot of RAM. Also install the Zonealarm firewall. It's also free and provides excellent security. I haven't had a single spyware/virus problem with the both of these installed. By the way disable the windows firewall when you install zonealarm, it's only a waste of space.

The best pack is what works 4 U.
I would stick with AVG free. It's free and does at least as good a job as Norton or McAfee. I would ditch windows firewall, if I were you. It's a very poor excuse for a firewall and has numerous holes.
